１泊２日の撮影業務にプライベートで２日を加えた３泊４日の北海道遠征。最終日に札幌在住のフォトグラファー、KEN五島さんにご案内いただいた。見られるかどうかは運次第と言われつつフィールドに入り、１時間くらい歩いただろうか。唐突に「あ、いますよ！」と言われ大木を見上げると、羽毛を膨らませたエゾフクロウがいた。辺りは音もなく静まり返って、時おり寒風が吹き荒ぶ深い林。エゾフクロウから15メートルほどの距離を保ちながら、三脚を据え、じっくり１時間ほど撮らせてもらえた。日中はほとんど動きがないのだが、微妙に変化する表情を見ていると飽きることはない。心から、ありがとう。
